Our blog, Modern Trobador, focuses on Provence--the long and
fascinating history, the literature and films it has inspired,
the world-renown food and wine, the proverbial slow-paced

region of France. Trobador comes from the Old Provençal language,
langue d'oc, and means "finder, researcher." It is, likely,
the root of the word, troubadour, the 12th and 13th century
strolling minstrels of Southern France, Northern Italy, and Spain.
