Édouard Loubet, who also owns Le Moulin in Lourmarin, just recently moved his gastronomic restaurant to the Bastide, his second restaurant. He had already distinguished himself as the youngest chef ever to receive two coveted Michelin stars and has long had a dedicated following. He is known for his creative herbal infusions and interesting combinations of tastes and textures, resulting in exquisite dishes.
The restaurant is in a lovely setting just outside the charming village of Bonnieux, about 15 minutes from Lourmarin. Dining is available on the patio in favorable weather. Both lunch (including a "light" lunch) and dinner are served. Reservations are recommended.
Auberge La FenièreMichelin Guide has bestowed one star on this restaurant and with good reason. Reine Sammut, the renown chef of this restaurant (and, most recently, of Le Passage in Aix-en-Provence), serves a fabulous multi-course menu inspired by the cuisines of traditional Provençal foods as well as those of other cuisines around the Mediterranean and North Africa. In a field traditionally dominated by men, this woman has garnered the respect of foodies from near and far.
The menu changes along with the seasons and Reine creates her dishes based on local products. Regardless of the season you choose to go, the food will be memorable. The setting is lovely. Located five minutes from Lourmarin. Reservations required.
