This is our favorite spot for morning café crème. Sometimes you have to go to the neighboring bakery to get your own croissants, but still it is where we always find ourselves for a good café. They serve a decent lunch, too, and we have been known to enjoy a pastis or two in the evening. In nice weather, the tables extend across the street and the people-watching is without rival.
Café de l'OrmeauThis cafe has its own faithful group of regulars for morning coffee. We have not been one of the regular morning patrons for no real reason other than out established habits find us in a neighboring cafe. New owners recently acquired this restaurant which encouraged us to have lunch there. The menu was very reasonable and our selections were quite good, probably best described as "comfort food." It was crowded, lively, and friendly.
Café de la Fontaine--CaldronThis is a busy and convivial café known for their Corsican specialties, often served from an oversized back cauldron. We have always enjoyed our meals, especially the plat du jour and the ice cream. The large booths are comfortable and a popular place for a morning café and evening apéritif.
Chez LuluThe relatively new restaurant is located at the very foot of the Petit Lubéron, a lovely setting, adjacent to the home of the proprietress, Cathy who is also a friend of ours. We have only been to this restaurant for ice cream and can highly recommend heading here for the best selection of ice cream in the area. Coffee and tea are also served. The luncheon menu (dinner is not served) is very limited, but having eaten many times as guests in Cathy's home, we can attest that the food from this kitchen is excellent. The setting is lovely--usually out on the terrace beneath a canopy of vines when the weather permits--and service is warm and friendly. We will report back after having lunch there.
